Even though your infant may not be able to share or express to us what they learn and think, they are learning and thinking so much! As a teacher and a parent, I see this every week with my own son in Little Notes class. Other families tell me too that they are much more aware than ever of how much their own infants and toddlers are learning and processing.
Research backs this up more and more too. In this TED Talk video, psychologist Alison Gopnik describes babies and young children as being like “the R&D division of the human species.” Her research explores the sophisticated intelligence-gathering and decision-making that babies are really doing when they play.
What is your baby thinking?
