After completing the first study of its kind, researchers at McMaster University have discovered that very early musical training benefits children even before they can walk or talk. Laurel Trainor and David Gerry’s research on very early musical training for babies at McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind was published in Developmental Science and Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Suzuki’s goals for all children included development of the whole child, unfolding the natural potential to learn and becoming a good and happy person. That’s why, in 1993, Dr. Suzuki and the Board of Directors of the International Suzuki Association (ISA) approved the curriculum developed by Dorothy Jones and named her school in London, Ontario as the first World Centre for Suzuki Early Childhood Education Teacher Training.
